Subject: Weather sample

Dear Ms Pugh

I am in receipt of your letter dated February 2002, requesting a weather sample, enclosing a sample container and return package.

I am happy to be involved in this survey, but have a couple of technical queries:

a. Should I sample at my work location or my home address?

b. Is there any restriction on the type of weather to be sampled? Can I choose a weather situation I find particularly pleasing or unpleasant?

c. Is inverting the container for 3 minutes before sampling sufficient to remove previous contents?

d. Does it matter if the sampler is right or left-handed, and whether the sample is taken clockwise or anticlockwise with respect to the front of the body?

e. Is the compass bearing a variable? f. Will you be able to return the sample after use?

I await your pronouncements on these important details before fulfilling the task to be best of my limited ability.

Yours as ever

Derek

PS I note that return postage was not included, was this an oversight?
